Sculthorpe Moor Boardwalk Appeal
Help us keep Sculthorpe Moor accessible for everyone
Boardwalks are at the heart of the visitor experience at Sculthorpe Moor Nature Reserve. They allow people to explore the reserve safely, get closer to nature and enjoy everything this special place has to offer.
Our wide pathways, ramps and accessible hides enable visitors using wheelchairs, mobility scooters and buggies to experience the reserve. As people travel along the boardwalks towards a hide or a favourite area, they have time and space to take in the sights, sounds, scents and atmosphere of the natural world around them.
These moments can have a lasting and positive effect on physical and mental wellbeing.
By sponsoring a board, you can help keep Sculthorpe Moor safe, welcoming and accessible for everyone.
What we have achieved so far
Sculthorpe Moor has around 2.5 kilometres of boardwalk across the reserve.
Thanks to the generosity of supporters during our previous appeal, we replaced 4,000 boards — approximately 400 metres of boardwalk — including the section leading to the Raptor Watchpoint.
This was a remarkable achievement and would not have been possible without your support.
Our next goal
We now need to replace a further 840 metres of deteriorating boardwalk over the next three years.
The work will be carried out mainly during quieter periods, when repairs can be completed safely and with as little disruption as possible to visitors and wildlife.
Our immediate aim is to raise £25,000 to replace the next 300 metres of boardwalk within 12 months.
